Volks. Our 91 Westy Syncro is really hard to steer. It doesn't return to the straight ahead position either. I noticed that the power steering pump was leaking a considerable amount when we bought it. I had it replace, yet the problem persists. The difficult steering was intermittent when we had the worn out stock Michelins, but became constantly bad when we put on new BFG Radial AT's. That's when I had the leaky power steering pump replaced. But like I said, it's still hard to steer. Any thoughts? I just got a Bentley's this morning (Thanks John Pierce), but I really didn't understand the power steering troubleshooting section, not that I would have a torque wrench to put on the steering wheel anyway. Any advise would be much appreciated. Robyn |
