How do you explain Kamchatka Vodka and other brands that have sold their alchohol in plastic for years? My family is not terribly snobby abut alchohol taste, but we've never tasted plastic in our booze.

Beyond that though, I say, follow the manufatureres recomendation. Drain the tank, open the top lid and let it dry out thoroughly, and have a nice day. Freezing or not.
