For various reasons I have given some thought to converting my 87 Westi
from a stick to an automatic.  Has anyone heard of it being done, what
were the problems and expenses involved and is it worth the hassle.  Is
there much performance difference between the two or are they about
equal in the mountains or towing a small trailer.  Thanks for your help.
