Happy Friday Listees,

Have had an 89 Vanagon about a month. It took several days to get the fridge lit the first time. Tried again tonight. There's no spark from the igniter about 95% if the times it should strike.

Checked the archives and the best advice I saw was to take off the top of the stove and check the wire going down to the combustion chamber(?). Listee said his was loose and duct tape fixed his problem. The archives offered no other solutions.

Does anyone out there have any better ideas? I'm sure the problem is the igniter. It was dark when I tried it and the one time it did strike the arc was plainly visible.

Grateful for any advice. PS Saw the post from kokopellis. Seems like we have enough Utah listees to have a camp out/get together. We could cross post with Type2 and Vintagebus and maybe get a good group together. Anybody interested? (it's still friday in MST)

Keep to the High Road

Fred Brittain 78 and 89 Westys
