Years ago I had a 1976 VW rabbit that for cost reasons I put Winston tires on it. As I recall, that was when they had a super replacement warranty.

Part of my life after that became getting the tires regularly replaced as they would blow-out at about their 50% tread life.

I have Michelin MXT? tires on my Vanagon, and they are super. IMHO worth the extra $$$. They are better than the OEM michelins that were on the van before.
