This Prolylene Glycol is not a horse of common horse-feathers with the Ethylene Glycol. Polypro is used in all sorts of things including medications and foods. In small quantities, it doesn't seem to hurt or harm. Arsenic in small quantities is a medication that does a lot of good. In large quantities its poison. Extract of Deadly Nightshade is used in Belladona. a medication, but increase the dosage...Deadly.

I use Allegerans eye drops for an eye condition, Really works. But does have PVA in it, or PolyVinyl Alcohol. PVA is like a plastic when dry, but is water soluble. Makes great eyedrops when properly mixed and used.

Point is, know what your are dealing with. Do a little research.

I had never heard of it either until I was advised to use Propylene Glycol as a treatment for cracked heels. When I asked for it at the pharmacy the pharmacist said they kept it on hand as a base for custom made cough syrups. Obviously it is something you can ingest although I'm with Mark, I'm sticking to milk on my Cheerios.
