Dear List, Having seen many differing opinions on the list about the "correct needle position", I find very few references to the variety of thermostats. I had the opportunity to replace a water pump last month ( a ten hour job the first time, three hours next time), the new 80 degree thermostat turned out to be a 87 degree thermostat when it arrived. (no big thing, winter is coming) The needle stays very steady on the right edge of the wonderful red blinking LED. I suggest this is really 87 degrees. The left of center is 80 degrees. Now if I can just get that front blower to work, i will have heat when I need it.
