Greetings and Salutations;

The other day while poking around in the crewcab's engine compartment I recalled this thread and decided to try and measure any "electrolysis" action taking place. I unplugged the electrical connection to the coolant level sensor and measured 175millivolts between one of the sensors contacts and chassis ground. This is with the engine hot but turned off. As I see it that contact is connected to a stainless steel probe immersed in coolant. Also the voltage dropped as the engine cooled. I was puzzled that the voltage was only present on one of the probes, the other read zero. Drive Safely & Good Luck Ken Lewis<Kernersville,NC>86 VW crewcab;60 T-5 Coupe
