Marty - One of my clients has been a Subaru mechanic for 20 years & tells me IF folks will follow the recommended maintenance schedule there is no reason their Subaru shouldn't serve them for 200-250K miles before anything major occurs. Our Vanagon water-cooled's are nothing more than an "after-thought". My '74 hadn't the power (or the heat!), but gave me better service. Personally, I'm thinking of either a Subaru or a Mazda rotary once me '85 dies again. I'm rich, so the gas mileage of of the rotary doesn't concern me, BUT the Subaru surely sounds much more "familiar" than the rotary. BOB - WA4RRN http://www.impeachment.org |
