OK folks, for something off the wall....
We Westy folks suffer from the presence of about 9 feet of fibreglass poptop all the time, and having just seen a full length Adventurewagon top I woz wondering..... What's the chances of moulding a full length poptop, perhaps with side hinge arrangement like the dormobile versions, that can be removed and used as a 14' skiff/runabout? Picture a flatbottomed boat upside down on a vanagon, curved bow/bottom breaking the wind nicely (just like this idea you say?) and a steep/flat transom at the rear, for a small motor if wanted. Just pop up about 60 degrees for the campout, go a full 180 deg then disconnect from the hinges to lift off the hull. Canvas details would be trivial if this could be pulled off. Sunroof becomes glass bottom? Slow day, eh? :)
