Bebe- Seems that this subject has been talked to death on this list (at least during the past 3 months)! You should check the archives. In a nutshell: The temp warning light flashes if (1) the temp is too high OR (2) the composition of the cooling solution is incorrect and/or too low. Very commonly, a FALSE indication of the #2 condition can happen if the connection to the coolant sensor is not sufficient. This seems to be remedy-able by removing the connector on the outside of the coolant expansion tank and cleaning the contacts with some electrical cleaner/solvent. Some have had to resort to "crimping" the connector to assure contact. The flashing light can also (correctly) indicate that you need to change the coolant (to correct the anti-freeze concentration) or add coolant solution. If anyone else on the list knows that any or all of the above is incorrect, please set the record straight. Thanks. Hope that this helps, Marty Wallace (1984 Westfalia "Heisenberg") Chico, California

I just bought an 87 Vanagon, Wolfsburg edition. My temperature light flashes off and on at times. The bus does not seem to be overheating but worried that I may cause damage if I keep driving.Has anyone had the same problem or know what may cause this to happen? Thanks, Bebe
