I had the exact same thing happen to me -- my RadioShack micro fan died after about ten hours of continuous use. I had mounted it horizontally UNDER the fins inside of the fridge. I think it simply "froze" to death! My second micro fan has faired far better -- over 100 hours continuous use my last camping trip. This time I mounted it VERTICALLY near the top of the refrigerator "ceiling" (where it is warmer) using a piece of bent metal to hold it in place. Sure keeps the temperature nice and even! I think this will do the "trick". Notwithstanding, I now have a backup micro fan in my glovebox, just in case.
