My family has put well over 700k trouble-free miles on 5 Subarus, and the one I am currently driving has nearly 180k miles on it; the engine compression is still nearly that of factory specs! The Subaru has been great. It brought me 1500 miles from Vermont to Florida in 26 hours (2 1/2 days). I was cruising at a comfortable 85 through the Carolinas with the rest of em. The peace of mind is not without a downside though (what is?). Engine cooling is an issue. You must circulate water for the first 5 or 10 minutes of engine operation. In FL that's a big issue. Right now in Vermont, a welcome boost. It is time conumming to put in. An advanced shade tree shouls allow 2 weekends, a week after work, and 25 hours of wire harness manufacture. All in all a good addition to bring about some peace of mind. definitely my .02 John Fleming 85 Westaru (170K. Tarpon Springs Florida) |
