Are Vanagons still being built anywhere on the planet? I vaguely remember some stuff about South Africa blowing through the list from time to time but did not pay a whole lot of attention at the time. If so is it possible that parts are still available from there, and if so, Why can't a VW dealer, or anyone for that matter, get parts from there? What piqued my interest is a comment from another air-cooled owner who posted requesting an exhaust crossover pipe, the same part I had problems finding for our 82. I know the Bus Depot can get it, and I know the Stebro folks are developing one for these model year Vanagons. I know that when you can find the part it is very expensive. It just seems to me that if they are still building these things we should have a readily available supply. TGIF, David Higginbotham 82 Westfalia Raleigh, NC |
