The best way I've found to remove any type of sticker gunk, dried grease, oil or dirt is to use a nifty little liquid called "citrus degreaser" I first discovered this neat stuff when I worked in a bicycle shop in college and always keep a bottle of the stuff around. Just rub it on to any gunk with a rag and the spot is clean with no damage to the surface. Best of all it smells good and it's biodegradeable!

Almost any good bike shop will carry it. Just ask for "citrus degreaser"

The type I usually buy is from a company called Finish Line and comes in a black squeeze bottle, 20 oz. for around 4 bucks
