No, it's not supposed to be loose - at the wrong time (of course) somewhere
down the road, it will eventually jiggle loose enough that it won't work
and unless you know exactly what caused the engine to quit (you do now), it
will be frustrating locating the cause.

Unfortunately, I don't have a source for just the Black connector ON the
distributor without having to order the whole Hall Unit (Bosch - $85.11
from me).  I do carry the White Plastic Plug, the Boot and the little
Contacts with a Pigtail Wire (3 contacts req'd) to effect a repair of these
pieces.

I may be wrong, but I believe Kyle (Volks-Motorsports) may have the Black
Connector on the distributor separately as I think he made a post on this
awhile back.
