My family has put well over 700k trouble-free miles on 5 Subarus, and the one I am currently driving has nearly 180k miles on it; the engine compression is still nearly that of factory specs!

I did the Subaru swap about 3000 miles ago and am thinking about signing off of this list as I realize most of the conversation is about "hesitation" "what "oil, water, gas, & etc." to use because of the desire

of us all to make our vehicles last, and other engine related stuff.

The Subaru has been great. It brought me 1500 miles from Vermont to Florida in 26 hours (2 1/2 days). I was cruising at a comfortable 85 through the

Carolinas with the rest of em.

The peace of mind is not without a downside though (what is?). Engine cooling is an issue. You must circulate water for the first 5 or 10 minutes of engine operation. In FL that's a big issue. Right now in Vermont, a welcome boost. It is time conumming to put in. An advanced shade tree shouls allow 2 weekends, a week after work, and 25 hours of wire harness manufacture.

All in all a good addition to bring about some peace of mind.

definitely my .02
