Just to stir the pot here, what you say may be true, but most of our syncros have settled a bit as the springs wear (witness the sycnro alignment chart - most syncros are "off the chart"). So you may just 'sneak' it in there. What's the cost of modifying your garage??

FWIW, I paid CDN$10,000 for my 91 Syncro Westy (210,000 kms), but it had been fixed up after a fire and it is running a carb. But a great deal for me. CAA (AAA) lists the worth at CDN$16,000 to 18,000. So check with your insurance agent.
