Audi's Quattro was designed in 1979 and first showed up on the 1980 in the
ur-Quattro or Coupe Turbo Quattro as it was known in north americia.  VW
and Audi shared the Quattro / Syncro idea with each other for quite a
while.  The VW Quantum Syncro Wagon is really an Audi 4000 wagen with
Quattro.

Getting to the Vans... I thought the first year for Syncro was 1986 but I
could be wrong on this one...
