VW use a heavy plastic end that is drilled and tapped to mount the valve. The US cores use a thin brass casing. A good repair shop could solder a heavy piece of brass onto the casing in order to mount the valve. Could wind up costing as much as a replacement VW core. Both the cores I bought were C$20.
