My 87 VW Westy lost power after about a six hour drive, only able to go about 50-55 mph. The Mechanic has checked most of the sensors and cannot find the problem yet. His next steps are to start replacing things, check for exhaust obstruction, pressure test etc. Anyone ever experience this problem before? Please let me know, Its already cost $180 just for investigating.
Perhaps a related problem-It would also not start when it was cold and he found that the oil pressure relief valve was stuck, which he fixed (not part of $180!). Yikes! I've only owned this for four months and it's the third time in the shop! ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>:-) Phillip Bouton (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS) National Association of County and City Health Officials 1100 17th Street, NW, 2nd Floor Washington, DC 20036 Ph.
