Dan etc., I was trying to say, that the brand was no guarantee that the cruise control was the one that I've used for 20 years. The "electronic clutch sensor" has been the test that I've used when going out to buy one. AudioVox may have changed suppliers. Perhaps yours doesn't have this feature and is really a different type, or maybe times have changed. I haven't bought one for a year. The cruise that I use also has a sensor option, although the last few that I purchased did not include that hardware. It was extra cost. In any case, there is a switch or jumper that is set to determine which is the speed sense source. It seems to me that my newest version can sense from some cars computers as well; but that doesn't apply to Vanagons. Speaking of jumpers, be sure to try different sensitivity settings. I think that Vanagons always require the highest. And, if you are using engine sensing, but sure that it is set to 4 cylinder. Mike |
