For the benefit of all, here are the Part Numbers and Applications for
86-91 Vanagons with the "Mark II" Caliper, as per the Parts Films:

Part Number     Application

251-615-123B    Girling Front Left Caliper
                86-87 2wd, Syncro 86-87
251-615-124B    Girling Front Right Caliper
                86-87 2wd, Syncro 86-87

*NOTE*  The "B" Calipers above were superseded by VAG in late 1989 to the
"D" Calipers listed below.

251-615-123D    Girling Front Left Caliper
                88-91 2wd, Syncro 88-91
251-615-124D    Girling Front Right Caliper
                88-91 2wd, Syncro 88-91

As far as I can determine by looking at the individual parts replacements
for the caliper assemblies, the pieces are essentially the same for "B" and
"D" calipers, hence the specifications should be the same for all Girling
Calipers.  What's the difference between the early and late production
calipers?  Film or Bentley says nothing.

ATE Calipers were also installed in the last few years of production:

251-615-123C    ATE Front Left Caliper
                89-91 2wd
                88-91 Syncro (From VIN 25-J-105001)
251-615-124C    ATE Front Right Caliper
                89-91 2wd
                88-91 Syncro (From VIN 25-J-105001)

All above calipers used the same Disc Brake Pad Set, PN 251-698-151F.
