Yuow will find as you drive the snow will start to form around the cables. The worst that I have had happen is the throttle and emergancy brake cable have problems. Clumps of snow end up hanging from the throttle causing it to stay on, and the emergency brake may stick on. My solution is to grease up the cables real well. I intend someday to relocate the throttle higher, just on the bottom of the floor, but have not had a chance to do this.
