Re: Syncro in snow

Usually the snow packs on top of the driveshaft in front of the rear cross frame. This is quite a nuisance because it pulls down all the cables which run there. I noticed it first when my engine was idling faster in the snow. That's why I had an aluminium cover built for the whole driveshaft and the coolant pipes. It begins behind the front cross frame and ends before the rear cross frame. It wraps around the additional frame for the drive shaft and attaches left and right to the longitudinal frame of the vanagon. It is attached with stainless bold. It also has an extension in the right rear to cover the coolant pipes as the cross the frame. I was worried that gravel thrown up by the front wheel might perforate them.

cheers,
