The real reason that the fuel is being cut off, is that unburned fuel will make
its way into the cat, where the temperature is extremely high, the fuel will
then be ignited inside the cat, ruining the whole thing. If you are lucky, it
will only melt, unlucky, it will explode at the seam. Anyhow, a new cat will be
needed, as these don't have 9 lives. Buying a new cat every time you went down
a hill would be expensive.
