VW South Africa is using 277 mm vented disks for the front axle of a Vanagon. I'm waiting for an answer from SA on this to get part numbers and check availability in Germany.

A lot of people are searching for better brakes for their powered-up Vanagons. One fellow, working at VAG, shut up ordering the 4 disk brake from Oettinger, as it was not deliverable. He made his own: Vented disk and brakeshoes came from an Audi RS2. The disk has been machined to fit, and he has to use 17" rims. I'm still investigating in this.
