Hi all,

the Iltis is a offroad 4x4, no VC, using a VW Fox engine. I don't think it has a low range, just a granny 1st. It is the CDN military Jeep, know as the 'Brass Taxi' as it is best suited to ferrying top brass around in the field. One landmine and all occupants severely crippled/worse, in a Hummer you'd get a headache and loose a wheel. The grunts want Hummers naturally (me too) It was to be a NATO vehicle, the initial call was for an amphibian, so look at the high prow next time. Not amphibious in production version. They go for $1500-2000 CDN in surplus auctions here I'm told. Well used.

bye, Tim
