The drivers seat on my 87 westy has the disturbing habit of rotating slightly on turns or when lateral pressure is applied to the seat cushion. The seat moves back and forth easily and in all other respects the seat works fine. Neither myself or my mechanic was able to detect any obvious abnormalities in the railings under the seat except to notice that unlike other VW models the westy does not appear to have a plastic shim within the railing which slides with the seat. The Bentley manual does not seem to cover this problem. Any thoughts? I guess I'm going to need to take the seat out entirely and see if the railings have een bent out of shape. Peter Lindenauer
