Way back when, in my early days of flying I heard of a small homebuilt
airplane some local pilot types had built based on drawings from a man whose
name was Gormerly Bulsh. He was hungarian, or Romanian or somthing. Anyhow,
it was an odd looking thing, and the locals, when asked what it was by
passer-bys, would say with local pride " That there, Sonny, is a Gormerly
Bulsh!!!". Well the local pilots began to like the homely thing, because it
attracted a lot of attention by the ladies, who were particularly
intrigued, because they thought it was so homely as to be cute. So in time
when asked what was going on over at the country airport --- knowing full
well the Gormerly was going to be flying, a fellows response got to be "
I'm going over and Gormerly Bulsh it a bit. In time, pilots being great
ones to use jargon, the reference was shortened to " I'm Bulshing it today"
and later after much refinement it came down to "Honey, I'll be home later
this afternoon, I'm going to the airport to Bulshit!!!!!
And what has this got to do with vanagons? Absolutely nothing!!!! But after
being told today by the lady in my life that my Burgandy Flash was just a
red phallus on wheels, I can dang well go to the airport and Bulshit if I
want to.
What the hell!!! It's Friday!!!!
Have a goodn' Everybody!!!

You've nearly got it, Joachim, but, Westphalius is the plural form of the
singular Westphalia. This is, of course, a modern irregularity, since this
is the feminine form of a word that was masculine in the original Old Latin.
As you may know, the root of this word is the Latin Westphallus. The exact
meaning of this word has been lost, but scholars believe that it may have
something to do with a pain in certain parts of the male anatomy associated
with sleeping in too cramped quarters and/or on a mattress that is too thin,
as one might encounter during a camping trip in a minimalist RV such as a VW
Camper. There may also be some meaning connected to an injury caused by a
hydrocarbon gas burning, as when cooking, at about crotch height. (ref: "10
,000 Latin Nouns and Their Meanings in Modern Context", (c)1995, Ekoja-

Hope that this helps,
