Hi Peter, Most likely, the westy rotating mechanism under the seat has too much play. I had the same quirk on my westy. To fix it, you have to remove the seat as in Bentley p.72.2. Then you tighten the 4 self-locking nuts on the round dish that you will see. Don't tighten them too much or the seat won't rotate anymore when camping. The trick is to find just the right tension, so that the seat won't jiggle, but still rotates easily. Let us know if that works. Harald '90 westy
