-, use only VW oil filters (or those sold by the List vendors); never >use Fram or similar. 20-50w Castrol and 10-40w Castrol in winter are the >oils of choice.

I second the motion about using only VW oil filters. After having a non-VW filter burst on my vehicle on the highway in the dead of winter, I use VW oil filters exclusively. Speaking of winter, VW dealers in my part of Canada are recommending (and using) 5W30 oil. Depends how cold it gets in your area.
