I have passanger tires on my Syncro (225/60 16") and I must say that they are coming off when I can afford new ones. The problem with the passanger tires is the side wall is usually only 1 ply. This is hell on your tires when you do corners at speed. LT tires are usually 3 ply for the side walls thus giving you that extra margin of safety.

The problem with 16" wheels is that you have to get a 28" tire to get a LT tire. I think the smallest is a 215/70 16" which is what I am getting (BFG AT).
