The inconvenience of seat removal is just one reason why I shifted to the
Wolfsburg-style jump seats.  They come out in about 5 seconds, maybe 10 if
your arthritis is acting up.  Additionally, they allow significantly more
useable cargo space when you fold up the seat bottoms, even if you don't
bother to remove them.  Another handy option (if seating for 7 is not
essential) is to use only the one behind the driver's seat, thus allowing
much more storage space that is accessable next to the sliding door.

It would be unfair to not mention a few disadvantages, namely the cost and
bother of retrofitting them into a non-Wolfsburg chasis, and the tendency
of some riders to prefer facing forward.  (This is sometimes
euphamistically referred to as the barf factor preference.)

Overall, my strong preference is to use either the jump seats (if
available) or to simply remove the center seat and enjoy the immense space
that is thereby created.  Of course, if you need to transport 6 or 7
people, some center seating is obviously required.
