I would bet that you have mixed the numbers, my 1988 owners manual shows that the westy poptop weighs 1640 kg empty, plus 700 kg of passengers and luggage, for a total of 2340 kg. The Syncro westy poptop weighs 1785 kg, plus 715 kg worth of luggage and family, total 2500 kg. The lightest 1988 model overall was the gas-powered panel van, 1395 kg, while the heaviest was the Syncro westy highroof at 1845 kg. The 1998 SA Microbus 2,6 weighs 1660 kg. Btw, westy poptops can only carry 50 kg on the roof, a too heavy boat definitely moves the point of gravity.
