When I was in junior high, we played "slug bug" too. The first person to see a Bug would slug whoever else was looking and yell, "Punch Bug!"

At a party back in undergrad school, a buddy of mine had just gotten a '75 Bug, and was bragging about it so much that when we all climbed in for a joyride, I punched the guy in the shoulder and yelled "Punch Bug!" just as he sat down. A couple of others joined in, too. (We had five piled in. Hard to show off your rebuilt engine's power.)
