I live in Santa Maria, California. This is on the coast and half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We are just 2.5 hours by '65 VW Bug from the SCCA race at Laguna Seca Raceway, which was held yesterday (Sunday) and my wife and I attended. It was pretty interesting to be among all the Ferrari and Porsche machinery and to be the center of attention in a old Ruby Red Bug. I had at least three serious offers to sell. Forget it.

Any way we survive a '87 Syncro, and own a '62 Convertible, '63 Sedan and the above mentioned '65.

If the Syncro can be a bit more predictable, we plan on trying to make the Syncro Safari this coming spring. Other than some of the very interesting disagreements (?) on this e-list, thanks to all of you who have given the very helpful advice on Vanagon Stuff. I print the relevant information out and stick it with the Bentley Manual...great combination.
