        As part of the thread that culminated in the above information,
        I may have mentioned  that our "L"-model year Carat (02/91) was
        made in Hannover. Looking at the serial number on the door post
        this morning, I noticed that it, too, bears the "G" (Graz) assembly
        code. So, we have 2/18437ths, or roughly .01% of the Graz plant's
        2WD Vanagon production in our driveway.


        Next Question: What are the production numbers per year for syncros
        at Graz?
