Yes, wannigan/wanigan, a great word! Especially for vanagon owners that carry ceder canvas canoes up top! Wanigan in my experience is a word for a hard shelled carry-all used in a canoe. Often made of wood, the nice ones constructed silmilarly to cedar canvas canoes but without the canvas. Often containing the "kitchen". alistair
