Ari - Jeez, "70 mph" in a '62??? Am I safe in assuming this was a bug, NOT a Van??? I never got more than 60mph out of my '62 Kombi back in '75, except downhill/following a tractor-trailer! Even then I felt like my life was in someone else's hands. My '60 bug, in '66 would maintain 65-70mph on South Florida roads and once buried the speedo whilst 3' behind the bumper of a tractor-trailer combo!!! Rabbits? Nah, they're suicidal, like cats, deer and anti-American protestors!. Nighttime on the road must mean something celestial to these particular critters. They tend to just throw themselves in front of our vehicles during darkness! Kind of like the anti-American protesting scum I encountered in Tampa, FL, at the University of South Florida, back in '72, who seemingly just jumped into the path of my '61 Ford pickup while trying to make it to class on time!!! I have to admit, though, that due to my superior driving skills, I was able to weave in & out between these crazy dudes out in the street without damaging my beloved F-100! Obviously, you have NO idea how 150# chihuahuas WILL influence the course of human events! BOB - WA4RRN '85GL http://www.impeachment.org |
