I am posting this URGENT request for help for a friend:

When the engine in his '82 2.0L aircooled camper recently went, he did a
trade-in deal for a rebuilt engine with VW and decided to use a brand
new Weber 32/36 and replace the old fuel injection.
Well, to make a long story short the thing doesn't run well at all. It
hesistates/chokes when you give it some gas and has no top end power.
He's using a mechanical Bosch distributor (009). The choke works fine at
start up although it doesn't really raise the RPM up much beyond what
"warm" idle RPM is.

This Weber came from a distributor out "west" supposedly familiar with
its use on a VW engine such as this but they haven't offered any
satisfactory answers. Any ideas? One mechanic thought maybe there was a
chamber or channel NOT DRILLED OUT in the Weber at the factory but we
find this far fetched. Does anyone have the ideal jet and venturi set
#'s for this carb on this engine??? Help!!! He's getting realy fed up
with it!
