I'm in total agreement with Bud about the process vs. the event but I didn't think Westys were able to get mileage like that. If so, I'm doing something __seriously__ wrong in the way I'm driving. >Jim *********************************************

Having used my 84 Westy Automatic (with a 2.1 w/Digijet) for the past 15 months for ONLY highway use to go to shows up and down the west coast, I WISH I was getting this kind of mileage.

I keep meticulous records (for IRS reasons) in regards to miles traveled and at the end of each trip I dutifully add up the miles and gallons to get the average:

July 1997 to June 1998: 14.8mpg Conditions: Always loaded to the hilt with display cases, tables, etc.....those western states list members that have seen my display at certain shows will attest to the fact that I load it up with alot of stuff. Average speed is usually 60-65 on the interstates, slower of course going up the grades.

July1998 to present: 16.6mpg Conditions: Amazingly enough, this is with pulling a small, enclosed utility trailer with most of the show stuff packed in it. Hey - I want to use the Westy for what it was intended for - living space while traveling. Average speed is still 60-65mph. Could be because I'm pulling the load rather than carrying it and/or the slipstream is improved with the trailer behind me, I really dunno.
