Just got back from my local John Deere dealership where I purchased a male plug to fit the Vanagon's legendary silver socket.

The John Deere part # on the package is RE11344

Its made by Bosch and has the Bosch part # 0 352 321 001

Its a nice plug and fits solidly into the socket (much better than a cig lighter adapter).
