Per,

I just recently happened to notice that on our 90 Westy (2.1 engine) that it takes about 5 minutes for heat to start coming out when the car starts out at about 32F. Sounds like you may have a bad thermostat. There was a thread on the list recently to the effect that some aftermarket thermostats may not behave correctly.
