Scott, the light is whatever color it is (almost certainly green, but it's not a two-color job). If it's on then the flame is lit. Mine gets dimmer when it's only the pilot burning, then brightens up when the full flame comes on. In case your panel is different from mine, on the left I've got:

Water 50-40 litres - green Water 40-15 - yellow Water 15-3 - red (the red goes out < 3 litres) Fridge on - green

and on the right:

Battery > 12.5v - green Battery 12-12.5v - yellow Battery < 12.0v - red

I've replaced some (maybe all) LEDs with brighter ones, added an amplifier to magnify the difference in the Fridge LED and a constant-brightness LED to compare with the Fridge one.
