I've experienced the popping fridge problem, also. I've been told it is too
much air, too little gas. Since the Dometic unit is a temperamental one, I
often go through numerous attempts to light the thing, and make the thing pop
in doing so. I vary the gas volume, and the number of times I pump, hoping for
that one best combination. If you peer into the pilot light hole in the
interior corner when igniting, you'll see a yellow flash occur and hear a pop
when there is too much oxygen. Cut back the pumping, ignite the excess gas,
and start over. Eventually, it will light.
Also, my LED is slow to glow, so there have been times when I had it lit, but
kept pumping/igniting in ignorance. Now, I'm patient, and I haven't blown up
yet.
