> > Does anybody get this kind of mileage? > my overall average gas mileage since we bought our westy is 25.6 mpg, the best mileage was 28.7 mpg at vacation in the netherlands going @ 40-50 mph, the worst mileage was 22 mpg at vacation coming back from france on their highway going @75-80 mph. the westi has the high top (8.95 feet high!), an awning mounted at the side of the roof, a 1.6l td engine and a 5-speed gearbox. we carry a lot of stuff in this car, sometimes we carry 3-4 bicycles, Katharina´s toys, full water tank, side tent, etc. my next project will be an intercooler and a longer 5th gear, i hope i can further reduce the fuel consumption by this way. for better understanding one litre of diesel is in germany near to 70 cents.

greetings michael
