The stock 16" rims are ET 34mm so they are actually closer to the trailing arm. I have 225/60 on my 16" and there is enough clearance for the 235s... Personally I would go with the Michelin 4X4PC 205/80 16"... 29" tall and narrow enough to get your chains on there.
