Greetnings all, I have an 87 Wolfsburg Auto that having suffered a sudden loss of oil pressure, as well as dripping heads gaskets, that I am about to rebuild. When I bought the van a year or so agao I was led to beleive that the engine was the 2.1L, but when I started to remove the engine I find that it has a label under the A/C compressor mount stating " VW of Canada Remanufactured Engine code DH" which by all accounts is the 1.9L engine. The engine appears to be fitted withall the 2.1 fuel injection system and electrics so I am a little bit puzzled as to what I have. What are the internal differences between the two engines? Can a 1.9 case be used for a 2.1 engine? Can a 1.9 be upgraded to a 2.1? Thanks in advance. Steve Recently moved fron Tidewater VA to West Yorkshire England |
