Earl, I have been there with my '84 DL. If you have not done so, make sure
that the contacts on the end of the ECU and the cable that plugs into it are
squeaky clean. You live in a very wet area, and moisture sends dirty
contacts crazy. If you contacts are squeaky clean, try a new air mass flow
controller. Realize that latter item can be pricey, but it may be the
answer to your problems.
